Logistically, your office should be close to your main clients and customers. If this isn’t where you are, it’s probably time to move. The right location means more visitors to your space and more business for you.
Ensure that the new premises have enough parking and accessibility for customers so that you don’t run into the same problems there.
#2: No Space
This one will be pretty obvious to tell, whether you notice it for yourself or your employees start to tell you they feel like a tin of sardines.
Other things to look for is large piles of stock that don’t fit anywhere, people having to share desks and cubicles, and managers not being in their own offices. These are all signs that your company has grown far too big for the premises you have.
According to the OHS Act in Australia, an employee should have ten square metres of space for themselves in order to be safe and efficient in the workplace.
If this doesn’t sound like the freedom your employees have, you might need to upgrade.
#3: Poor Working Conditions
When you first leased your space, you might have opted for something cheaper just to get your business off the ground. Now that you’re doing better, though, the cracked ceilings and fading paint just aren’t cutting it anymore.
The condition of your workplace reflects your company and brand, so when visitors or customers come to your premises you want it to be an accurate representation of your business’s raison d’etre.
